Worse Experience of My Life

This week I had the unfortunate experience of suffering through something I hope and pray I never have to go through again. Now, I'm not a cry baby by any means. I shattered my right ankle so bad the surgeon had to reconstruct with metal, I broke my pelvis in three places, and delivered a child with no meds; so I'm no sissy. But this week I experienced a malady I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy. Vertigo.
When I woke up Monday morning, swung my legs over and sat up to get out of bed, the entire room spun. Not just your things moving around a bit, I mean spun so fast I couldn't see anything but a blur. I felt like I was being pulled through a vortex. I thought I would black out and instantly got sick to my stomach.
I thought I was having a stroke, but when I could raise my arms and smile, I knew that wasn't the case. Then I thought I must surely have a brain tumor. Why, I ask you, do we always imagine the worse. After suffering through this for one day, because of course I had to wait and see if it would go away by some miracle, on Tuesday I saw the doctor. (No I didn't drive myself). Vertigo. When the doctor said "It is not a tumor" (of course I imagined her saying this in the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger) but I was flooded with relief.
Physical therapy and a few simple head movements cleared it up, but I must tell you that this was the worse thing I have yet to experience. Thank God it was something that medical science could cure.
Have any of you ever had vertigo?
