Stephanie Landsem writes about women in history for women who love history. Stephanie has traveled on four continents and dozens of countries. When she can’t travel, she reads fiction and history and dreams of her next adventure -- whether it be in person or on the pages of her novels.

Her upcoming release, Code Name Edelweiss, is based on a true story. In 1933 Los Angeles, a Jewish lawyer and his band of amateur spies foil Hitler's plan to take over Hollywood.

In A Far-Off Land, is a story of murder, mystery and mercy set in the glamour of 1930s Hollywood and the grit of the Great Depression.

The Living Water series — The Well, The Thief, and The Tomb, a Novel of Martha—are stories of women transformed by encounters with Jesus.

I am currently writing more, so watch my Facebook author page for updates. There are SO many great female characters in the Old Testament that I'd love to write about: Deborah, Lot's wife and daughters, and Eve are the first that come to mind. Who's story would you like to read?

Then, they asked for a a synopsis for a second book in The Living Water Series. I was terrified.

I knew that I wanted the series to hinge on the life-changing miracles of Jesus and that I wanted this book to start with the healing of the man born blind but that was all I knew. So, I did what I always do when I don't know what else to do -- I called my sister.

Over the next hour, we talked -- about books and characters that we loved and why we loved them. We talked about Dickens and his street urchins, about Shakespeare and girls who disguised themselves as boys, and eventually about how we both loved the good thief and had always wondered about his story. By the time I got off the phone, I had a story percolating in my brain and 24 hours later I sent a synopsis off to my agent for The Thief.

Thanks, Rachel, for your help with The Thief and for all the times you've been there for me!(less)
