I get inspiration from many things, like movies, books, and just life experiences. Sometimes a line will come to me when I'm performing the most basic daily thing like washing dishes or reading in bed.(less)

I thought to myself, I can do that and create my own little stories. For me, it's never easy to write a poem, no matter how simple the poem may seem. It takes imagination, recollection of moments from the past, tempered use of metaphor and simile sometimes, and just having this inner desire to create and to hope that others will enjoy what you've written too.(less)

Poem: Velvet Bookmark

As Autumn's red heat set the night sky on fire a fallen feather fluttered into my book of days. A feeling of hope and resilience cradled me in its arms like a warm nest. Gently, I retrieved the ash-brown feather and placed it between the book's spine for safekeeping: a velvet bookmark to mark this moment in time.
