Sue Simonich grew up exploring the majestic mountains and spectacular red rock back country in her home state of Utah. She attended Portland State University and the University of Utah. She spent four years as a staffer with the State Arboretum of Utah, (now Red Butte Gardens). She has written and published advertising materials, web sites, and blogs. Her favorite past time is historical research, from the medieval to contemporary. In 2012 she published her first novel, "Painted Skies" and lives in the Great Northwest with her husband.

In 2023, she re-launched her "God's Painted Skies" a novel and is currently writing a sequel tentatively titled, "Mountain Thunder."
