Bibliophile Book Mobile
Hey all,
I thought my fellow bibliophiles might appreciate this book mobile (get it, get it???) that I made for my (very) pregnant sister-in-law.
I've known her since we were about 11, and whenever she'd come over, I'd pull out the trundle bed in my room and we'd lay around reading illicit romance novels that I'd smuggled from my grandma's boxes in the attic. She couldn't take them home (because, really, very naive 11yos probably shouldn't have been reading Diana Gabaldon & Jude Devereaux) and she would read a whole book in an afternoon. To this day, she is still the fastest reader I've ever encountered and on any given day in her house you can find 5 books face down partially read spread throughout her house. We went to college together, were room mates, and somehow my brother managed to convince her to marry him, and now they're expecting. Books are what started it all, so I couldn't think of a better mobile for their baby.
All the books are out of craft paper, and the illustrations, text, and marbled paper are copied from old, public domain books. The gold spinner is a chair leg I cut down and drilled holes in, then glued the dowel rods and dowel-rod buttons to. The decorations on the outside of the book are images I drew in Adobe Illustrator, mostly simplified versions of real book covers (except the one with the rooster--those are actually traced & tweaked shelf brackets, lol). There are more pic's over at my website: http://www.elizacrewe.com/blog/biblio...

TA-DA!

And here's the Indian edition (Penguin publishes it over there):

The Blurb:
War is here.
Full-scale war has erupted between the Crusaders and demons and even Chi has to admit isn’t going well. Like any sensible rat, Meda’s eager to abandon the sinking ship but, unfortunately, her friends aren't nearly as pragmatic. Instead, Meda’s forced to try to keep them all alive until the dust settles.
As the Crusaders take more and more drastic measures, the tables turn and Meda suddenly finds herself in the role of voice of sanity. No one is more horrified than she is. When old enemies reappear as new allies and old friends become new enemies Meda has to decide—again—whose side she’s really on.
And then the Crusaders decide that Meda should go to Hell. Literally.
Can’t a monster ever catch a break?

Public Service Announcement
Warning: The over-consumption of romance novels during your formative years can one day result in dressing of your toddler like this:

WOOT! Crushed release: SEPT. 22nd!
GUYS BIG NEWS--I got back the rights to Cracked and Crushed THIS MORNING! Do you know what this means?
Operation Free Meda is a go!
The official release date will be September 22nd (I need a couple weeks to get my ducks in a row--formatting for ebooks, figuring out the covers, arranging the blog tour and whatnot). I'll be releasing an ecopy of both Cracked and Crushed (also, as a side note, Angry Robot will only be selling print copies of Cracked until December, after which they will no longer be available--so if you want one, get it soon!)
To all the bloggers who were awesome enough to offer to be part of my blog tour: first off, thanks. I love you. Seriously. Secondly, you’ll be getting an email from me soon to talk details and schedule. And lastly, I know it’s really short notice, so please, please don’t feel obligated to squish me in if you already have a full schedule. I appreciate your even offering.
In conclusion: WOO-HOOOOOO!!!
Tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell your mom:
MEDA IS COMING.
