I have degrees in Ancient History, and Theology; as well as a Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies. I'm a fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Battlestar Galactica, and Fringe; as well as a reader of Heroic Fantasy from the likes of David Gemmell, David Eddings, and Raymond E. Feist.

I've been a Guest Lecturer in Trinity College, Dublin; and I've taught Creative Writing to unwilling adults (!). I l live with my wife, two daughters, and my Shichon and best friend, Monty, in Ireland.
