Hot off the press!
Hello friends and fellow readers,I've been derelict in posting to my blog in recent times. Far too wrapped up in writing, which is both a good and a bad thing. I've been focusing on my children's writing, the result being the launch of a new book for Middle Grade children, Flying with the Spitfires, an historical fiction with a magical twist. If you have a moment I'd be grateful if could might dip into the book and see what you think!

Elephants are trumpeting!
Worldwide, elephants are trumpeting!
ECHO AND THE MAGICAL WHISPERS won silver at the 2015 Moonbeam Children's Book Awards (pre teen fiction, mature issues). Written to highlight the terrible consequences of poaching of elephants for their ivory, the book is a fantasy written from the elephant's point of view.

Shadow of the Tiger
My next book, a work in progress, is set in the Sundarbans mangrove forest between India and Bangladesh, one of the last remaining untouched habitats of the Royal Bengal Tiger. The tiger is man-eating and those that venture into the delta to fish or collect honey are at risk of losing their lives to this largely unseen predator. The story begins in 1947 at the time of the end of British rule and the partition of India. The characters live under the shadow of the tiger, which has far-reaching consequences for their fate.
I posted the first chapter on the News page:

Rising of a Dead Moon
I just finished a re-write of RISING OF A DEAD MOON, which incorporates the feedback I have received over the last few months. They say that a writers task is never done, but I'm very pleased with the way the book is now looking.
You can sample the book on the book page. Enjoy!
