I have spent most of my life accumulating stories and influences and have finally decided it's time for me to start assembling them into works of my own. I have augmented a lifetime of learning and reading with a BA in English, and have written for television and newspaper. ...more

It is the beginning of my second series, which actually takes place in history before my first series, a sort of but not really prequel to The Amazing Morse series. I try to make all my books complete stories of their own so you can pick any of them up without having to commit yourself to something that may never end (I have a definite end in mind, but I see a lot of writers willing to continue a series for as long as readers are willing to pay for the next installment. Seven Stones has a sequel, but it also has a firm ending, not a setup for the next book) . So while I love all of them and find each of them special in its own way, I have made the conscious decision to make Seven Stones the wide door through which readers are most likely to pass :)(less)

“Being a writer means spilling out thoughts and feelings and suddenly realizing you had no intention of revealing yourself so completely, and then hitting the send button. That’s it, it’s that one little click with your right pinky that differentiates a writer from the rest. It’s the one courageous act of a coward, the one act of commitment from one who hates to commit to anything. It’s the introvert lowering his guard for an instant, inviting the world to see more deeply into him than the extrovert ever does. Or at least it feels like it. And if you do your job right, you get a bunch of admiration and a good dose of hate, and ultimately people will see you as an all right guy who has some odd ideas but isn’t completely off his rocker.”

Essays On The Media by James Rozoff
“Start building alternatives, don’t wait for something to happen. You are the early adapters. It is up to you to not merely weave new narratives, you must also show that you are able to live by them. Be bold, be brave, but more than anything, see the beauty and the possibility that can be woven from the current crisis.”

“Vulgarity is like a fine wine: it should only be uncorked on a special occasion, and then only shared with the right group of people.”
James Rozoff

“Sheep only need a single flock, but people need two: one to belong to and make them feel comfortable, and another to blame all of society’s problems on.”

“The places of quiet are going away, the churches, the woods, the libraries. And it is only in silence we can hear the voice inside of us which gives us true peace.”
James Rozoff

“Science is the process of obscuring the marvelous with explanations.”

“I pity the atheist, for he can never fully appreciate a sinful pleasure.”

“Why, if there is anything in supply and demand, life is the cheapest thing in the world. There is only so much water, so much earth, so much air; but the life that is demanding to be born is limitless. Nature is a spendthrift. Look at the fish and their millions of eggs. For that matter, look at you and me. In our loins are the possibilities of millions of lives. Could we but find time and opportunity and utilize the last bit and every bit of the unborn life that is in us, we could become the fathers of nations and populate continents. Life? Bah! It has no value. Of cheap things it is the cheapest. Everywhere it goes begging. Nature spills it out with a lavish hand. Where there is room for one life, she sows a thousand lives, and it's life eats life till the strongest and most piggish life is left.”
Jack London, The Sea Wolf

“But I am I. And I won't subordinate my taste to the unanimous judgment of mankind”
Jack London, Martin Eden
