John R. Cobb (1965-present) is a proud Mainer with a great affection for the woods and waters. John is a U.S. Army veteran and has worked in various technology fields for over forty years, including data networking, electrical, and telecommunications.

Recently, John retired as an IT Department Supervisor and IT Infrastructure Analyst. Sadly, John’s beloved wife of thirty years, Heidi, passed away before they could enjoy their post-retirement life. John still resides in Maine with his son, Johnny, and his beagle, Cookie.

I would like to be a member of intelligent and well-equipped celestial explorers seeking to build a Utopian society on a new world. Assuming of course, humans have learned how to live in an extraterrestrial environment without succumbing to alien pathogens, were careful not to overwhelm the defenses of indigenous plants and animals, and certainly, not attempt to colonize a planet already inhabited by sentient beings. I understand the inherit risks, but the exploration of uncharted places throughout the universe is very appealing to me.(less)

2023 Hollywood Book Festival Announcements

Although my entry "Tale of the Raptor Men" wasn't deemed the winner, my book did receive an honorable mention out of hundreds, if not thousands, of entries, so I'm pleased nonetheless.

Deep, dark depression, excessive misery.
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.”
