Born and bred with a love of language, N Ponders went on to get a Bachelor's degree in English and Linguistics.

N Ponders spends their free time--when it can be found--creating fantastical stories, learning languages, creating artwork in all forms, gardening, and exploring the Pacific Northwest of the United States of America. As an avid gardener and wildcrafter, one of their favorite uses for the internet is preserving herbal, and other, lore.

Mx Ponders has been writing since they were a child, and has been writing sci-fi, fantasy, poetry and children's lit ever since.

Write down everything that enters your head, even if it seems silly (remember, you can always burn that page at a later date). It also helps to turn the light on when scribbling down that midnight inspiration that you got in bed while dreaming... It's always easy to think that you will remember 'that thought' on waking, or when you next have pen and paper. But it doesn't often happen. I have found that the best way to combat writer's block is to always have material that I can fall back on, and sometimes that's an old journal entry that becomes a narrative description, or fuels a character's dialogue. You never know what that seemingly unimportant and irrelevant passage could become, so write it down.(less)

I get inspired to write through life itself. Right now, as I find myself sitting at my old university student union building, I am reminded of just how varied that can be, and of all the things that have brought me to this moment and this place in my life. Those moments can be quiet, or they can be hectic, but they are all worth closer examination. And that is what writing and reading allow me to do.

Sometimes we need to think more on something; others we need to escape so that we can stop thinking about something, and make a better decision later when we're not so close to that something. It is writing and reading that provide that for me. I can only hope that my writing will provide that for other readers as well.(less)
