I've always been fascinated with fossils and dinosaurs and I sure wish I could have found dinosaur bones as a child like Esme. I also lost both my grandfathers when I was a child and know how much it changed my childhood and how much I grieved for them. I've also sprinkled other memories of my childhood growing up in Texas including "Bump" the horned toad, the telephone wire rings, and the candy Esme and Finch share with each other.(less)

I was under deadline while writing The Stolen One so I had to just dive in with the knowledge I had of the Tudor era. I had research books coming from all over and when one would come, I'd take a day off from writing and absorb the details. I probably did the most research on Queen Elizabeth's wardrobe. One book had an inventory of every article in her wardrobe, written in Old English - I used a lot of the information gleamed from that book. One of the interesting things I found is that Elizabeth did not have the time to sit for every portrait, so one of her ladies in waiting would do it, and the artist would later paint in Elizabeth's face. I used that tidbit as a scene in The Stolen One. (less)

My Love of Typewriters

When I think back to my earliest memories of writing and telling stories and how I slowly learned my craft, to form my words, to compose a story, typewriters were inextricably intertwined.

Even from the age of three or four, I had a wild imagination.  I remember making up elaborate fantasy worlds with the complexity of Games of Thrones intrigue. I played with my two neighbor friends Holly and L

Andrea Kulman Hi & thank you for being a friend.

Suzanne Gosh, this shows how smart I am. I don't remember! I remember it was easy. Seems like there was a "Is this you" button, or maybe that was amazon. There should be a link somewhere on goodreads on how update your author page. I still don't know how to invite friends on LiveJournal. I'm from the dinosaur age my teenagers say.
