Here’s an excerpt from the introduction to the new release of Dashiell Hammett’s The Maltese Falcon that I wrote:

Back in the seventies—when hair was long, fashion was questionable, and social justice movements were gaining real momentum—I joined my high school newspaper, the Rebel. I must have taken the name a little too seriously, because the first thing I sat down to write wasn’t journalism.

This one was a lot of fun! Great premise with the found footage/notes thing. Kept me reading late into the night. Highly recommended.
