Vance Kessler's writing style could be called "Informal Theology." He loves to study about God. When he learns something new, he likes to frame that truth in a way that is easily relatable. This helps us better understand whatever truth God is teaching him. His writing is interesting, easy to read, and easy to understand. You will find very few big fancy church words in his writing. His latest joy has been in writing Christian Science fiction. He manages to put God’s truth into the gripping fictional realities he creates.

Vance loves reading non-fiction Christian books about various aspects of God or about Christian living. Vance is also an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy. His favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, Timothy Keller, Will

Why Does God Require Faith?

Many do not accept God because they cannot do so without undeniable evidence of His existence. They do not have faith that He exists. We know God requires faith because He told us:

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)

Why didn’t God make it easy for people to

“Having an eternal perspective can help when considering various choices in our lives. If we are honest, some decisions we have made in our lives would have been made differently if we had taken the time to think of them in terms of our eternal future.”
Vance C. Kessler, Heaven: Harps Optional

“There are also several practical aspects to learning more about
our eternal home. Having a better perspective on the purpose of
our lives helps us to handle difficult times better. It helps us focus
on what is truly important. It also helps us to enjoy this life more
fully.”
Vance C. Kessler, Heaven: Harps Optional

“People already have a desire for the things Heaven holds. We
simply need to see that these things are not just some fanciful
dream from a song but are a promised future reality.”

“We are all deeply ashamed by choices we have made and things we have done. Many of these things are worthy of the raunchiest tabloid. These things bring pain and misery into our lives. But even with that, if we love and trust God and turn from those things to God, then He will still love us and be able to use us in powerful ways.”
Vance C. Kessler, God's Favorite Liars, Adulterers, and Murderers

“The best way for us to get a good understanding of the priority we are placing on our relationship with God is to look at the choices we are making. These choices do not earn us any level of righteousness, but they do show the priority we place in our relationship with God. They show how much we want to honor Him and His desires.”
Vance C. Kessler, God's Favorite Liars, Adulterers, and Murderers

“Jesus was the only perfect person, so all other people God uses are sinful and flawed.”
Vance C. Kessler, God's Favorite Liars, Adulterers, and Murderers
