MJ Blehart has been writing stories in the genres of high fantasy and sci-fi/space opera throughout his life, the first when he was nine years old. Over the years the scope of his writing has expanded, adding a variety of genres and styles.

MJ has been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (the SCA, a medieval re-enactment society) for over thirty years. In the SCA he is known as Malcolm Bowman, and practices 16th-century rapier combat (he is also an instructor in this), court heraldry, archery, and more.

MJ likes to think he is funny and has been known to pun and make snarky comments. Once, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a random stranger came up to him, offered to shake his hand, and then told him, "I just had to say...you're an odd-lo

No, seriously, keep at it. Good or bad, just write. You can always go back and revise. Don't be afraid if it should be shared or no - just get it out of your head and onto the page or screen.

Everything you write builds upon your skill. So the more you write, the better you get. Don't be afraid - just do it!(less)

When I was a kid, and I saw Star Wars (ok, Episode IV - A New Hope - I was 5 when I saw it in 1977, and it will always be Star Wars to me!) When Obi-wan mentions the Clone Wars to Luke, I thought it was a war where both sides used clones for the fighting. Which, it turns out of course, it wasn't.

But then, a year or so ago, I started watching Clone Wars. And I thought, when the war is over - what becomes of the hundreds of thousands of clones? That led to the idea of Forgotten Fodder - tens of thousands of clones, a decade after the war, are an underclass across society. How does that impact them?

I am super excited to continue work on this series and share insight into what I envision it might look like. (less)

Why Be Mindful of the Divisive?

Because that way lies madness.Photo by Céline Cao on Unsplash

Everywhere you turn, especially across social media, the narrative loudly screams about “US” vs “THEM”. The emphasis on the extremes and how “we” need to protect ourselves from “they” is utterly out of hand.

When all is said and done, no matter what divisive label you apply, people aren’t so radically different. Have you ever met anyone w
