Lorraine now lives on small acreage on the Caboolture/Elimbah border, Qld. After spending much of her working life as a technical, business and instructional writer, she is now happily semi-retired and loves to write short stories, dabbles in poetry-writing, and has written children's book, Melanie's Easter Gift (http://www.melanieseastergift.com) which was published in 2009.

Topics Mentioning This Author

“When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece.”
John Ruskin

“Words... They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good any more... I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little or make a poem which children will speak for you when you're dead.”
Tom Stoppard, The Real Thing

“To be nobody but
yourself in a world
which is doing its best day and night to make you like
everybody else means to fight the hardest battle
which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.”
E.E. Cummings

“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”
Nicolas Chamfort

“Life isn't about having. Life is about loving... loving people; loving life.”
