I'm Melissa Parks, a therapist-turned-coach and author helping globally mobile people find home in themselves.

I've been an avid reader for as long as I can remember — and a writer even longer than that. Before I could hold a pencil, I was dictating stories to my dad. Somewhere in between the clinical training and the decade I spent living abroad in Spain and the Netherlands, that little girl who couldn't stop making up stories never quite went away. A Compassionate Mess is, in many ways, the book I always knew I needed to write.

My debut memoir comes out June 23, 2026. It's the story of my own unraveling and reinvention — for anyone who is tired of trying to fix the parts of themselves that were never actually broken.
