Earl B. Russell is author Meanderings and Mullings (2017) and the tragicomic Cold Turkey at Nine: The Memoir of a Problem Child (2013). He is a writer, blogger, and retired professor whose writings have appeared in the New York Times, the Arizona Republic, and the Austin American-Statesman.

He spent much of his career writing for dozens of academic publications, including journal articles and research reports. He held academic positions at the University of Georgia, Ohio State University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He retired as professor emeritus after finishing his academic career as a department head at Nebraska.

Being only mid-March now, I have given little if any thought to how to celebrate my April Fool's birthday this year. But the celebration will certainly include something out of the ordinary.

My writing has taken a back seat to our recent move from Austin to Old Town Scottsdale. I have a second book of nonfiction underway, with no clear publication date yet.
