To blow-up blocks of many kinds, I use a little exercise I created known as Spirit's Toy Box.

1: pick a random number between 1 - 10. I watch for 'signs' during that day of what number seems right. Example, my attention seems to capture things in groups of six. I then pick six for my number.

2. Once I pick my number, I need to attract a box. A box larger than a typical shoe box; smaller than a box such as appliance (like a stove) box.

3. Once I discover my box (normally while out shopping or walking around), I'm ready to start filling my "Spirit Toy Box."

4. For the next six weeks (the six from step 1 above), I toss whatever distracts my attention into my Spirit Toy Box. If it's too large to toss in, I take (and print) a picture of it. OR, I write a small note about that item. Once tossed into the box, I forget about it.

5. The first day of week seven, I literally TOSS the contents of the box onto a clean floor. For the rest of the day, I just look at this pile of distractions.

6. The rest of week seven, my natural explorer kicks in. Themes arise. Ah-ha's popcorn. Notebooks get filled with insights.

7. Day 1 week 8 I donate what's donatable to a local thrift shop. I prepare a burning ceremony for the rest of my Spirit Toy Box. While it burns, my prayers of gratitude are spoken and sung.

(I use Spirit's Toy Box as a pre-cursor to retreats I host - regularly.)(less)
