Getting a New Webpage Up & Running
http://www.tabvohn.com/
So I've relented...sort of.
Rather than waste an obscene amount of money (imo) on domain hosting, I've gone the route of Blogger, which allows me to use my domain name for free and have a simplistic, effective little site.
It's doing what I want it to do, which is to serve as a hub for my work. It's in progress as of now; still more to come, as I've only completed my fiction & poetry pages (and you can get all that info here @Goodreads anyway.)
Recently, I've begun painting, and I'd love to have an online chronicle of that. If it gleans any interest, I may consider doing prints. Who knows.
But yeah, I'm back to being legit. Just a cheap legit :P

P.S. It's also available on Smashwords:https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
Smashwords addition is sans illustrations. Sorry; requires a freaking IT degree to meet their technical requirements for images :/

Are Author Websites Really Necessary?
Back when I was a dewy-eyed young writer, I paid a ridiculous amount of cash for a website, because that's what I thought I should do.
My "official" website was never anything more than a parrot of identical postings on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, & Tumblr. And if anyone wanted to look for one of my books, Amazon and Smashwords or wonderful Goodreads are the places to go.
Now, five years in, I cannot speak as to a single reader that cash cow of a website has ever gleaned.
So my question to you (if you're reading this): Are official websites really necessary? I mean really. Do you, as a reader, visit the websites of your favorite authors? Would you start or stop reading an author's material based on the author's "official" webpage?
Interested to hear your thoughts.

_____ Has a Name
What do I do with all this leftover love? --Sierra DeMulder
Last week
I took your jade from
my neck
It's chain had gathered rust
(like us?)
It's thread is fraying at the edges
Soon it would've been lost
Already, it's become too heavy a weight
to bear
I wrapped it in satin shroud
for safekeeping
I am trying to let you go
I'm thinking of taking down your drawings
boxing them away
like the honesty we no longer have
between us
Maybe I'll keep them with the gifts you've
never opened
and "all this leftover love"
You
who are the master
who've made an art of it
Teach me how to let you go
Tell me the secret
to ignoring a severed limb
of saying: this is another day
closer to death and lived without you
a heartbeat's currency
spent on lesser things
Tell me how to be
content with that
Teach me about indifference
with estrangement clothed like
Death, instruct me how to
circumvent a lifetime supply
of grief, pretend you are as unreachable
as the loved ones devolving to dust
and MOVE ON!
strike the words "I miss you" from my
vocabulary
Strand me high on the mountaintop
Name it Severance
Name it Passed This
Name it an Obliette
Let my screams meld with the silence
until there's nothing left but silence
nothing left but silence
nothing left...
For the life of me
I'm trying
to live, to forget, to ignore the
roaring in my chest
to deny there's any empty
assigned to you
to love you less for breaking me
again
to love me less for allowing myself
to be broken
to let you go
to let you go

yet every contact I
get from you is a high
it’s true
I drop tears from
missing you
