Maja Ilisch, geboren 1975 in Dortmund, studierte Öffentliches Bibliothekswesen an der FH Köln und absolvierte eine Ausbildung zur Fachbuchhändlerin. Sie schrieb unter anderem für TV-Serien auf SAT1 und RTL sowie für ein Hörspiellabel, für das sie auch eine Phantastikreihe konzipierte. Außerdem betreibt sie die Website des von ihr gegründete Fantasy-Autorenforums TINTENZIRKEL. Heute lebt sie als Bibliothekarin und freie Autorin mit ihrem Mann in Aachen, wo sie sich mit Büchern umgibt und ausgewählte Gäste mit ihrer Puppensammlung erschreckt, die fast nur aus Köpfen besteht. „Das Puppenzimmer“ ist ihre erste Romanveröffentlichung.
