Cardiff Comic Con
Hi
I'm going to Comic Con - which was something I thought only ever happened in The Big Bang Theory. For anyone who happens to be in the Cardiff area, do drop by. I shall be signing books and chatting with anyone who doesn't have the energy to escape.
It's being held on 24th & 25th October 2015 at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.
At no little personal risk, I'm going to have a bash at adding the link below and if I crash the entire Goodreads system then I'm very sorry.

A Bachelor Establishment
The time has come - I have a dreadful confession to make. I've been unfaithful to St Mary's.
Under the pen name Isabella Barclay, I've written a Regency Romance, entitled A Bachelor Establishment and it's due out on 27th June 2015.
I don't know what made me do it - at times it felt as if I was just the one holding the pen as the story wrote itself. A very odd sensation!
Anyway, the story concerns two people, one of whom has gone to the devil and the other just wishes she could.
It's light - I hope it's funny - and no one dies!
Hope you enjoy it!

Exciting news!

Here's an exciting and completely unexpected piece of news from my publishers, Accent Press:
The third book of the St Mary's series, A Second Chance is a finalist in the Paranormal section of the 2015 Audie Awards. These are the equivalent to the Oscars of the audible book world.
Looking at the other finalists in this and all the other categories, there really are no words to describe how thrilled and honoured I am. Sadly, I have to contain myself until May, when the results will be announced.
In the meantime, I'm off for a celebratory cup of tea. And some chocolate, of course.

Two new Christmas Stories!
Many thanks to everyone who has enquired about my two new Christmas stories.
They're finished!
The first, entitled 'Christmas Present' is a traditional St Mary's tale in which Max and her colleagues mount a rescue mission, encounter Boudicca herself and manage to upset a pig.
Christmas Present
The second, 'Little Donkey' sees the return of old friends from 'The Nothing Girl' and features Marilyn the donkey's debut performance in the Christmas Nativity Play.
Little Donkey
Both are available for pre-order on Amazon.
And before anyone asks, yes, I am slaving away at the typeface, working hard on the fifth St Mary's book, tentatively scheduled for publication in March 2015.

Roman Holiday
For those of you desperate for your next St Mary's fix - and you know who you are - my publishers tell me that my short story - Roman Holiday - will be available on Kindle on 19th June, which I think is next week.
Forget Ben Hur!
Forget Quo Vadis!
Forget the casts of thousands!
Roman Holiday features, in no particular order, Ancient Rome, a bowl of poisonous snakes, Julius Caesar, a stampede of maddened oxen, Cleopatra, attempted murder and Mr Markham's wayward bosoms!

A Second Chance - The Chronicles of St Marys 3
Finally - it's finished.
The third of the St Mary's Chronicles, A Second Chance, will be available on 14th February, 2014.
St Mary’s is back and nothing is going right for Max. Once again, it’s just one damned thing after another.
The action jumps from an encounter with a mirror-stealing Isaac Newton to the bloody battlefield at Agincourt.
Discover how a simple fact-finding assignment to witness the ancient and murderous cheese-rolling ceremony in Gloucester can result in CBC – concussion by cheese.
The long awaited jump to Bronze Age Troy ends in personal catastrophe for Max and just when it seems things can't get any worse – it’s back to the Cretaceous Period again to confront an old enemy who has nothing to lose.
So, make the tea, grab the chocolate biscuits, settle back and discover exactly why the entire History department has painted itself blue …

When a Child is Born
Well, that took me by surprise.
One minute I'm snuffling all over my keyboard, bravely enduring the most hideous sinus and chest infection known to man, and the next minute, my new short story is out there.
I feel greatly cheered and have now stopped imagining my own funeral. I'd just got to the bit where everyone is sobbing in the rain and wishing they'd given me more chocolate/wine/royalties and suddenly realising what a truly special person I was.
So there it is - When a Child is Born - available on Kindle and from Accent Press. I hope you enjoy it.

A Symphony of Echoes
Tuesday!
A Symphony of Echoes is out on Tuesday!
I'm so excited!
And a little worried by all these exclamation marks. Always the sign of a diseased mind!

Just One Damned Thing After Another
OMG! I've just heard from my publishers, Accent Press and they've sold the audio rights to Just One Damned Thing After Another AND my short Christmas Story. I mean the story's short - not Christmas. It's sad how easily I become incoherent - blame the cold medicine.
And for everyone who has asked, A Symphony of Echoes is about to be released.
If only I could stop sneezing all over my keyboard ...

Just One Damned Thing After Another - The Sequel
Well, today I sent off the sequel - A Symphony of Angels. It's done. Complete. Finished.
For the time being.
I had no idea that finally letting it go would be so difficult. My finger hovered over the 'send' key for several minutes. At one point I got up and made a cup of tea. At another point I actually contemplated cleaning the oven.
I think I sent my offspring to school with less mental anguish than despatching one manuscript. Doesn't say much for my parenting skills, does it?
Anyway, Accent Press have given me 2nd January as a provisional publishing date and Just One Damned Thing After Another is being reissued as a paperback this coming September.
Check out my publishers, Accent Press, on their 'coming soon' page.
In the meantime, of course, I draw a deep breath, put the kettle on and get to grips with number three - A Second Chance.
