Bernard Assaf is a fiction dabbler (in other words, he enjoys creative writing during his sparse leisure time) and occasional editor of role-playing game items and related fiction. His career and livelihood have been tied to the software development industry since his high school days, but his hobbies have been inexorably tied to the science fiction and fantasy genres for even longer.

Slowly, I put the book down and gulped nervously, eyes wide open, because I remembered: the rest of my family was out at the movies.(less)

19 Book series I want to finish

I took a look at my "already read" list today. Turns out I'm in the "middle" of more series than I realized. Perhaps I should try to finish some of them. I order them below by "longest amount of time since I read one in the series" to "shortest." Perhaps I'll re-engage some. Perhaps I won't. I'm not counting series where I read only 1 of and don't want to finish it.

Bernard’s Recent Updates

Bernard is on page 347 of 830 of The Past through Tomorrow: A little catching up to do of stories I skipped reviewing:

"The Black Pits of Luna" (1947). I barely recovered losing (and finding) a son at the zoo. This guy does that on the Moon!

"--We Also Walk Dogs" (1941). This story wandered oddly. Bribing a scientist to implement a gravity altering technology for a government conference!

"Searchlight" (1962). Somebody ELSE got lost on the Moon. Music saves the day!

Overall, a worthy tour of golden age science fiction, including by some authors I'd not read before. Found the book in near mint condition at Irondale
