Water's Edge, set for publication on October 1, was inspired by the time my husband and I spent in Southeast Alaska.

A few years ago, we lived in Ketchikan, AK, for a short period and we had the opportunity to spend two weeks in a small bush community near the northern tip of Prince of Wales Island. Life there was so different from anything we had ever experienced before and it has left a lasting impression on me.

When I set out to write Water's Edge, a contemporary romance, I wanted to share what it was like for an outsider to move to a remote community. The town in the book is completely fictional, but the way the people in small bush communities band together to help each other is very real.(less)
