Then I write whatever comes to mind in little circles around it; connecting those circles that make sense until I have a path to follow.
The second is to walk away. Sometimes I have to let the idea percolate in my brain for awhile. I will go for a walk or go clean something. I give my brain a chance to focus on the mundane instead of the problem. It lets me step back and get another look at it.(less)

When things are flowing smoothly, you want everyone to leave you alone as your fingers fly over the keyboard. When things are going poorly, you suddenly really need to wash those dishes or you force yourself to stay and are gnashing your teeth. The best part is when you are done and you look at what you have written and you are happy with it and with yourself. When it conveys exactly what you meant to say and you put your pen (or keyboard) down and sigh.(less)

Angel Snippet

Once upon a time, Angels walked-or rather flew-proudly amongst us. But the humans grew to hate them for their closeness to God, and their beauty, and their ability to soar through the skies that became their only refuge from the human hoards. But no Angel can fly forever. Some, like Michael, could fight and fight well and fight long, but the humans were like vermin. One on one, they posed no chall Read more of this blog post »
