Goodreads asked E.J. Divitt:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

E.J. Divitt The best thing about being a writer is having written something. The actual process of writing can be a roller coaster of emotions. When things are flowing smoothly, you want everyone to leave you alone as your fingers fly over the keyboard. When things are going poorly, you suddenly really need to wash those dishes or you force yourself to stay and are gnashing your teeth. The best part is when you are done and you look at what you have written and you are happy with it and with yourself. When it conveys exactly what you meant to say and you put your pen (or keyboard) down and sigh.
