Robert Henry Benson is a Texas writer whose work is rooted in the landscapes, people, and unlikely paths of the South Texas brush country. His writing blends plainspoken storytelling with a deep curiosity about the natural world and the human one.

He is the author of The Scarlet Kingfisher: Discovery of a New Species, a novel set in South Texas that reflects his lifelong interest in birds and field observation, as well as Through Both Eyes, a coming-of-age story. He has also written how-to books on photography and other subjects, along with scientific articles and award-winning short fiction.
