Didi Oviatt is an intuitive soul. She’s a wife and mother first, with one son and one daughter. Her thirst to write was developed at an early age, and she never looked back. After digging down deep and getting in touch with her literary self, she's writing mystery/thrillers like Search For Maylee, Aggravated Momentum, The Stix, and New Age Lamians. Along with a six- piece short story collection called the Time Wasters. She’s also collaborated with Kim Knight in an ongoing interactive short story anthology The Suspenseful Collection. When Didi doesn’t have her nose buried in a book, she can found enjoying a laid back outdoorsy life. Time spent sleeping under the stars, hiking, fishing, and ATVing the back roads of beautiful mountain trails. ...more

For me it's kind of like a nerdy twist on being an adrenaline junkie.

As far as sleep goes, there are certain portions of this book that I DIDN'T SLEEP A WINK during the creation process. Aggravated Momentum is written in first person with alternating POV's. There is a large chunk of the book that is written through the eyes of the killer. Going in, I loved the idea of it. I have a thing for psychology and was very excited to write the psyche of sociopath.

But, once I actually put myself in the head of this character I had a really hard time turning it on and off. I didn't sleep, I lost weight, and I even became a little paranoid about my friends and family. I looked at people differently and I assumed everyone out there had hidden agendas and secret motives behind their action. Yes, I know how crazy this sounds, but the chilling aspects of this book completely consumed me. It was a little intense.

As soon as this book was finished I actually took a short two month break from writing. First I went on a Disney/Mickey Mouse binge with my kids. Then I painted a few rooms in my house and spent twice as much time with my friends and family as I usually do. I needed a refreshing clean wholesome and personal couple of months to get my upbeat optimistic outlook on life back.

It got me to thinking, and I was quite confident that it would inevitably be the very last person anyone else would expect. I got wondering about the sneaky, lowdown, fake individuals that somehow weave their lies into the heads of everyone around them... Now, I'm quite sure that I took the content of that pointless conversation much further than necessary because I found myself lying awake at night running the faces of everyone I know through my head. I took honest people and morphed them into having twisted secretive alternate lives... The next morning I woke with a chuckle, sat down at my laptop, and hashed out a unique story plot. I created an average American family, and stuffed each member of this family with their own skeletons, secrets, and lies.... From there it only escalated!! (less)

#4Star #Bookreview The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, by Joseph Murphy

MY 4 STAR REVIEW:

It’s no wonder this book as been a best seller for so many decades! It’s certainly not your run of the mill Law of Attraction book. Not that there’s anything wrong with any (or all) of the mind-over-matter type books, I’ve read several and love them all. However, this one really does ring different and true on a entirely next level, which is refreshing! I even borrowed it out to a

“Life is short, death is forever”
Chuck Palahniuk, Damned

“The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”
Tahereh Mafi, Shatter Me

“As long as there is love in this world, we will be a part of it.”
Renee Carlino, Wish You Were Here

Renee Carlino
“Have I asked you to marry me?” he said sleepily. We were back on. “Every day,” I replied. “Well . . .” “I always say not yet.” Adam was dozing off and slurring when he said, “Why?” I’m certain he was asleep when I finally replied, “Because I don’t want you to stop asking.”
Renee Carlino, Wish You Were Here

“A writer's greatest pain is reading his own words that once meant everything but as time slid, became a hollow shell of what they used to be. It is like watching your babies blooming and then withering to death in your lifetime. You still love them but the pain outweighs that love until both fade slowly into forgotten memories. You move on but every once in a while something evokes your words, your babies, unburies them from a supposedly forgotten past. And everytime, your insides scream from agony, begging your heart to let go. "I can't", the heart whispers but "I'll share the pain", he adds.”
