Mindful Moment with Michael – Episode 12 – Mindful Feeling

This is the 12th video in Dr. DeMaria’s popular Mindful Moment with Michael. In this video Dr. DeMaria discussed the practice of how to approach feeling mindfully. Mindfulness refers to present moment, non-judgmental awareness of simply what is. There is a curious, open and welcoming attitude we cultivate in mindful awareness. Mindful Moment with Michael – Episode 9 – Mindful Parenting

There is no more important job on the planet – and also more challenging – parenting. When we are mindful, present and compassionate we can find unique, creative and effective ways to stay in conversation with our children. Most often when we act out our anger we are caught in our own feelings of insecurity, fear, and incompetence. Of course there are limits to set, consequences to apply – but when we do so from a place of love, confidence and presence, we become more creative, skillful and effective.

Mindful Moment with Michael – Episode 7 – Mindful Cooking

In this episode Michael discusses the practice of mindful cooking.  Exploring and being present to each moment of the day – is likened to experience each note of a song – feeling and sensing the flow of it’s unfolding. The goal of listening to music is not to get to the end of the song, but to enjoy the feelings, textures and experience it brings to us – we have lost this ability by being lost in the mind stories of endless conceptualizations that take us into the false, illusory experience of past and future missing the gift of this moment.  Mindful cooking is a wonderful way to get back in touch with the natural state of our beings in its simplicity and present-centered focus.
