Hi Pat!
Please forgive my late response!!
The title came to me as I was thinking about my own mom and what would happen if a child ran away. As I continued to ponder I started to think about adoption and how many people adopt everything from animals to children. I had the idea of a child running away and thought about a young child's possible mindset, which is usually less "fearful" of right and wrong, especially when emotions come into play. Once when I was about ten years old this super nice older lady sat next to me on the plane and she told me if I get sleepy it was okay if I rested my head on her shoulder. Mind you this was a different time and not unusual for a child to fly alone (as I often did) to visit my mom. So that memory played into it as well since I thought I could have easily said "Okay, lady, and also I'm going to go with you after the plane lands, haha.(less)

Julia at the Drive-In by Rainbow Rowell
"Really cute! My only complaint is that I didn't want to stop reading. I hope there will be another book to continue Wyatt and Julia's story. There connection was so cute and kept me smiling!💜💜"
Everyone in This Bank Is a Thief by Benjamin Stevenson
"Another installment in the life of Ernest Cunningham, detective and writer! I enjoy how these books are written to include the reader (breaking the fourth wall, so to speak), and appreciate that all the characters have secrets of their own. This book" Read more of this review »
True Crime by Patricia Cornwell
"The author gives a rather honest look back at her life and what has shaped her, including the ups and downs, challenges and triumphs. The book was engaging, slow-paced at times but still interesting. Cornwell’s childhood and her relationship with Rut" Read more of this review »

3.5 stars, rounded up

I am a huge John Saul fan, and somehow he completely slipped off my radar over the years since he stopped writing back in 2009.

I decided to go back through his list and read all of his novels that I missed.
