Ted Tayler is the international best-selling indie author of the Freeman Files and Phoenix series. Ted lives in the English West country, where his stories are based. He was born in 1945 and has been married to Lynne since 1971. They have three children and four grandchildren.

His thought-provoking mysteries appeal to readers of Sally Rigby, Joy Ellis, Pauline Rowson, and Faith Martin. His action-packed thrillers are a must for fans of Mark Dawson and J C Ryan.

What I do when I get temporarily stuck is, I get up and go and do something completely different for a couple of hours; perhaps I watch some sport, potter around in the garden or go shopping with the wife!
When I get back to writing it's a lot easier to pick up the thread and get on with things than if you sit and stare at the blank page for hours on end.
The other tip I would give is, stick to writing about things that are in your comfort zone, then at least you can be confident that you know what you're writing about. If you need to include something you know absolutely nothing about, don't try to 'wing it', do loads of research, make copious notes and then the battle is already partly won!(less)

If it’s verbally, face to face, then that’s fine and I enjoy that too; however, I can reach more people with the written word and long after I’m gone the books I’ve managed to get finished will be available somewhere, for anyone who wishes to read them. I don’t have a ‘message’ to get across; I’m simply a storyteller. Being a writer allows me to tell stories.(less)
