A Veiled & Hallowed Eve

The Soulbound series has been building up to its thrilling conclusion for a while now, and A Veiled & Hallowed Eve did not disappoint.

Death is the last lover you will ever know.

SOA Special Agent Patrick Collins has lived a life full of lies, and it has finally caught up with him. There’s no denying his past any longer, not after giving up the truth to save himself from a murder charge. But truth alone can’t set Patrick free, and time is running out to stop the Dominion Sect from turning his...

Terms of Service

Interesting take on SciFi fae that didn’t quite seem to know what it wanted to be. From the desription I expected complicated political intrigue set in a bustling, hightec city. I also expected the Astrosi to be some sort of alien.
Instead I got fae shenanigans with lots of action and a bit of mystery.

When her cousin gets kidnapped by a dastardly trickster, Luzia is forced to sell herself in servitude to the Eoi in exchange for his life. But the terms of the deal turn out to be much more com...

Dark Heir

I have no clue what to do with myself after finishing this. Book 3 hasn’t even been announced yet. I am in shambles.

In this riveting sequel to the New York Times bestselling novel Dark Rise, Will and his allies have survived the Dark’s first assault, but at a terrible cost.

A new threat from the past is rising, and only a handful of heroes remain to fight. Pursued by dark forces, Will and his allies must leave the safety of the Hall and travel to the heart of the ancient world, making new an...

A Language of Dragons

I enjoyed this YA alternate history with dragons story! The class system, systematic oppression and propaganda, as well as budding rebellion, are nothing new per se, but I found that the stance of the protagonist to be rather fresh for me, and a super interesting choice.

EVERY ACT OF TRANSLATION REQUIRES SACRIFICE
Welcome to Bletchley Park… with dragons.

London, 1923. Dragons soar through the skies and protests erupt on the streets, but Vivien Featherswallow isn’t worried. She’s going to follo...

DILF: Did I Leave Feminism?

In this sharp manifesto, veteran author and activist, Jude Doyle, reunites feminist and trans politics through a common that all people deserve full control over their own bodies…

When Jude Doyle began his transition in the summer of 2020, he had a very public career as a feminist—winning awards from women’s organizations, writing for women’s magazines, publishing books on “women’s issues.” Then, after a decade in the movement, he had to walk out in front of the public and tell them he had n...

A Game in Yellow (Isaiah’s review)

Euphoria meets Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke in this latest novel by the Bram Stoker Award–winning author Hailey Piper, following a couple whose search to spice up their sex life leads them down a path of madness.

A kink-fixated couple, Carmen and Blanca, have been in a rut. That is until Blanca discovers the enigmatic Smoke in an under-street drug den, who holds pages to a strange play, The King in Yellow. Read too much, and you’ll fall into madness. But read just a little an...

The Fireborne Blade

Really cool novella about dragon-slaying.

Kill the dragon. Find the blade. Reclaim her honor.
It’s that, or end up like countless knights before her, as a puddle of gore and molten armor.
Maddileh is a knight. There aren’t many women in her line of work, and it often feels like the sneering and contempt from her peers is harder to stomach than the actual dragon slaying. But she’s a knight, and made of sterner stuff.
A minor infraction forces her to redeem her honor in the most dramatic way poss...

Lucky Day

I’m a big fan of Chuck Tingle’s horror fiction, and this one once again hooked me with its weird and horrific premise. I enjoyed the plot, the characters, the journey… but unfortunately, it lost me with its ending.

Lucky Day is the newest novel of terror from Chuck Tingle, USA Today bestselling author of Bury Your Gays, where one woman must go up against the most horrifying concept of all: nothing.

Vera is a survivor of a global catastrophe known as the Low Probability Event, but she definite...
