Promotional Headaches
I never know it would be this hard to get a book noticed...
I apologise for being that person who posts incessant spammy posts about the new book all over Facebook and Twitter (OK, well actually I don't) but it's a heck of a hard slog without the combined might of a big name publishing company and a big PR budget.
I've been in the local paper, I've got a trailer on the way (how cool does THAT sound?) and I'm doing a zillion things to try and get the book seen, but that "Only 7 copies left" note on Amazon is taunting me daily as is my obsessive need to check where I am in the Kindle sales chart. Slightly below JK Rowling but potentially better sales this month than JR Hartley. (If you weren't around in the early 90s, that will be lost on you)
My surreptitious dashes into Waterstones to locate a copy of Viva Voluptuous are getting to be a habit now.
Being a first time author is definitely a learning experience!

If a job's worth doing, you might as well do it yourself, and so I started pimping Viva Voluptuous out this week.

Waterstones are now stocking it in the stores as well as online and the lovely Betty Pamper is going to review it on her blog.
I have much more to do - nobody ever said this would be easy. I'm still chuffed to bits though.
On other news, I also found HUGE bards of Cadburys jelly bean and Smartie Dairy Milk in my local shop. So I'm off to celebrate!
