What Is The Spilled Ones (Kobore-mono)?

When I describe The Spilled Ones, I usually have a hard time putting it into one genre.

On the surface, it's a post-apocalyptic story set in Tokyo in 2008.

Romance, comedy, mystery, survival... Also a slowly developing harem.

But the easiest way I've found to describe it is:
It's an English-original novel heavily influenced by Japanese light novels, manga, and anime.

That influence is intentional.
