First and foremost: I hate writing the dreaded bio! I'm a writer, I'm somewhat of an introvert...so why would I want to talk about myself? Anyway, here I am.

Although I wrote as a hobby all my life and had several poems published in my 20s- I had my first foot in the publishing world in 2003. My first novella (Love Everlasting) was published by a not so good publishing company. I'm sure many writers out there know what I mean but I don't believe in slander so won't mention their name. It was bitter sweet. One the bad side, my 125 page paperback was priced at $17.99 and needless to say the only copies sold were ones I was able to buy myself and sell at a loss to myself. Back then it was called Everlasting Love. The so called editing they claimed to have done was horrible too. That's the bad part, but it was a good experience too. Because of the introduction, I learned a lot about the publishing world and learned the differences between traditional publishing houses and self-publishing. I also did a lot of networking back in those days and was honored when I was asked to review a book by Penguin Group. They contacted me, they sent the package, I thought that was cool.

But then my personal life began to take a turn. I managed to write my novel and released that in 07. However I rushed to have it done and found not only errors but knew the ending was just not what I had in mind. I took both books off the market (My contract with the publishing mill was cancelled) and fixed them up. In 2013 I rereleased my novel.

Unfortunately I feel that my hiatus in writing has effected my networking and online presence. Its been a slow go but I'm gradually gaining followers again. Please be patient with me. When I wrote my first book, I worked part time and now that I'm a full time worker, its harder to get my daily word count in. I have several novel ideas but for 2016 and maybe 2017 I plan on sticking to just novellas. That's not bad though. I recently read that in today's age, readers and ereaders enjoy shorter stories.

I'm often asked why I self publish? For starters, I don't want to sit on someone's slush pile for years before getting noticed. (whether that be an agent or a publisher after an agent) But, my main reasons are because I honestly like having control over the whole experience. When I put a book out, its 100% me. No, that's not true because I currently still need help with covers. Writing is just the beginning; from there I am responsible for fonts, margins, editing, and marketing.
