In the US there is Carl Ernst at U of North Carolina and William Chittick at SUNY. Most of the Sufi-scholars are dead now. There are probably others worth studying and the way to find them might be to do a google scholar search of articles on Sufism. Stay away from McGill--stuffy place where I once studied. Who and where is your sheikh?

Have you traveled to Bokhara ? Thinking of going soon. Any suggestions as to sites to visit aside from the Bahauddin tomb?
