On Thursday Oct 2nd, we were amongst several local authors for Little Bus Books’ No Covers fundraiser, “The Plot: Stories Speak Louder Than Covers.” We couldn’t talk about it beforehand because they wanted our identities to be kept secret. Each patron was given a chance to try to figure out who the author was that was reading from their book and what genre it represented before our identities were revealed. Yesterday I received my copy of KRAKEN, the beautifully-illustrated graphic novel by my dear friend, David Hartman, and my old buddy, Shannon Eric Denton. Man, this book is a lot of fun! I don’t know about you, but I need to step away from work and social media on a regular basis to recharge the ol’ creative batteries (and keep the little crumb of sanity I still have). Dave Youkovich and I have been working extremely hard on THE BOX, getting everything ready for our upcoming Kickstarter campaign—and let me tell you, that requires a crazy amount of time and work to do right.
