As a five-week-old-baby in the San Joaquin Valley of California, Jane St.John with her parents, traveled by auto from mid-California, northward to the outskirts of San Francisco, across the bay near Berkeley and Albany, to Richmond where she grew up. She graduated from San Jose State University with a BA degree in History and English. As a Graduate, she studied for and received a Secondary Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. She taught English and was Head of the English Department at a high school in a small town in the mid-west. Later on she taught in private schools.
