So let me give you some history. Back in the day, I was the Personnel/Finance officer of the 3rd Battalion, 109th Armor. Our officer association was started before World War II and it was called "The Forrest Critters Officer Association," named for General Nathan Bedford Forrest who, for some r Read more of this blog post »

Another amazing Hap and Leonard exploit and sadly, the final one unless Joe has a change of heart.
This one is being called #15 in the series, but if you include the short stories, novellas, and novelettes, I show it as #30 - and I've read each one,

A terrific band of authors spear-headed by the multi-talented Wayne Fenlon has managed to lay down one of the finest collections of short fiction I've read in years.

Honestly, it seemed to go on forever.
I tried i>Hex a few years ago and DNF because I couldn't get into it, so I had no idea that the character Robert Grim had appeared previously, but he wasn't really what I'd call a major character in this book, so

To be honest, I approached this with a little tredpidation because it's marketed for the 8-12 year old crowd... but I've read enough of D.W. Gillespie's work to know I'd be wrong not to give it a chance.
And I wasn't wrong.

Alma Katsu has done it again and I don't know how she does it. Unbelievable.
This re-invention of The Picture of Dorian Gray in the digital age is, in my opinion, better than the original and honestly, a comparison is kind of pale. This book isn't act

Going to have to admit two things about this book.
#1 - the first half was a little slow-going for me, but I don't read as fast as I used to.
#2 - the second half flew by as fast as I could turn the pages
Now, having said that, the reason the first half
