Becky, I'm a chin-hair person myself, and met for a few days with other women with that and other qualities. . .our conversations all had to do, this time, with getting older. Used to be marriage, children, sex, and fatness that occupied our times together. What could be next? Don't tell me; I'm pretty sure I know. Ashes strewn? Granite stone? Or? Thanks so much for contacting me with your interesting question! I would have to say that it depends on which women friends I'm with, as to what the conversations are about! When I'm with my writer-friends, it's mostly about writing, reading, publishing, and selling our books, but then goes into jobs, husbands, shopping, and food! LOL. And with my non-writer friends, it usually goes straight to the non-writerly subjects! We've not talked about granite stone, but have discussed ashes, especially since there's a chapter in my memoir about my dad's ashes! Thanks again for your questions! (less)

How do you deal with writer’s block?

I usually go through the emotions most writers go through: aggravation, impatience, etc. It helps to get up and do …moreIt depends on my mood at the time. I usually go through the emotions most writers go through: aggravation, impatience, etc. It helps to get up and do something physical for a while instead of sitting and staring at my laptop. Sometimes I take a short walk around my neighborhood or throw a load of clothes in the washer. Something quick like that, so I'm not away from writing for too long. (less)
