So, who is Rob Grimes and why has he suddenly decided that he's an author?

Good question... In fairness though, it's not that I've just decided, it's that I've only just realised. I mean, I've been writing for years; mostly factual stuff, technical manuals and instructions and things like that.

Then I started to post sarcastic, wordy, and lengthy updates on Facebook that turned into The Chimping Dandy Blog, which in turn evolved into 'Mumblings of an Irate Pangolin' in the style of one of those hateful anthologies that newspaper columnists produce just before Christmas.

The only thing I can do, when I know I should be writing but nothing is coming out is to switch projects. I try to have at least two or three things on the go at any one time. If I'm not able to write at all, there are always customer's books to edit, or covers to design.(less)

Hands down, the best thing about being a writer is holding a book in your hands that has your name on the cover - It's a feeling like nothing else.

Right up until you see a book, with your name on the cover, on the shelf of a bookshop, then that's the best feeling.

Right up until someone comes up to you, at an event and asks you to sign the book, with your name on the cover, that is most definately the best feeling it's possible to feel.(less)

Hello again everyone,

Sorry I've not posted for a long time... If only more of you would buy my books I wouldn't have to have a day-job, then I'd write more often and we'd all be winners!

“I walked the length of the ward, towards the exit with what I imagined to be the stoic, dignified stride of a gunslinger walking away from his last fight, determined to make it outside before I broke into a million pieces, I almost made it too.”
