On the cozy genre and writing female characters
Last year, my writing group decided to write an anthology of short stories. The theme was “cozy shops”, riffing off popular books like Legends and Lattes. It had to be people in some kind of fantasy universe running some kind of magical shop. And it had to be straight, because this genre is permeated with homosexuals for some reason.
