Since she believed she was an only child, this suggests she had some siblings she didn't know about. Further research on the man believed to be her father, who "left when I was young," according to mom, shows he had another wife and a number of offspring born around the same time as my mom. Unfortunately, the cousins didn't respond to my email to find out more. Sounds like a scandalous tale and I wonder if she ever had an inkling or if her mother kept a dark secret from her.(less)
