Hey isn't this just a big ole rip-off of Alice Hoffman's Museum of Extraordinary Things?

Magruder's took 5-6 years to finish, maybe more--it's been so long I lose track. Which is to say that the initial drafts were done long before Hoffman's book came out. I was literally working on a revision at the moment I saw the first review of Hoffman's book, and I cried and cried because I thought no one would ever publish a book about a similar topic by a non-famous person.

But as it turned out, there's room in the world for different books about Coney Island at the turn of the century. Sometimes similar ideas occur to similar people. Even to celebrities like Hoffman and nobodies like myself. It's a thing that happens, for real.

Y’all are crazy mean. This is a rom com advertised as being similar to Gilmore Girls and it totally delivers on that front. It’s silly and fun. Good grief.
