Jason has been a keen gardener for over twenty years, having taken on numerous weed infested patches and turned them into productive vegetable gardens.

One of his first gardening experiences was digging over a 400 square foot garden in its entirety and turning it into a vegetable garden, much to the delight of his neighbours who all got free vegetables! It was through this experience that he discovered his love of gardening and started to learn more about the subject.

When I find myself struggling, I put the book down and move on to a different topic, which usually works for me. Alternatively, I go outside and do some gardening as that usually clears my head.(less)

I write a book and then it earns for years afterwards. Writing has given me the freedom to do what I want, when I want without having to worry about the 9-5 life. I love being able to work when/where I want and regularly sit in parks or cafes working!(less)

How To Make Gooseberry Jam

Gooseberries are on the delights of summer as far as I am concerned. They have a delicious tart, tangy flavour that is oddly combined with sweet, particularly if you can leave them on the bush for longer or have a purple variety. Jam is an excellent way to capture their unique taste to enjoy during the cold, winter months when the memory of fresh gooseberries has faded.

“Firstly, dig down to level ten; the coordinates of which will be something like “feet 10.00 eyes 11.62”. Then dig to your left and right until you have coordinates at each end which can be divided by 16, e.g. 144 at one end and 160 at the other. All blocks between these two ends are a chunk. Repeat the same for the z axis and you will have marked out a complete chunk. Once you have calculated the first one, it is easy to work out the rest as you can just count 16 blocks.”
