The Idolmaker Vs. Eddie and the Cruisers

I'm not sure if I saw The Idolmaker when it came out, but I wanted to because all my friends did, and talked about it a lot. I even remember the theater where it was playing in Westwood, and the cardboard life size stand ups through the window in the lobby painted in gold lightbulbs.
