“Your hope lies in accepting your life as it now lies before you, forever changed. If you can do that, the peace you seek will follow. Forever changed. I am forever changed.”

John Knowles
“Everyone has a moment in history which belongs particularly to him. It is the moment when his emotions achieve their most powerful sway over him, and afterward when you say to this person "the world today" or "life" or "reality" he will assume that you mean this moment, even if it is fifty years past. The world, through his unleashed emotions, imprinted itself upon him, and he carries the stamp of that passing moment forever.”
John Knowles, A Separate Peace

Marianne Williamson
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"

Peter Enns
“Sweating bullets to line up the Bible with our exhausting expectations, to make the Bible something it’s not meant to be, isn’t a pious act of faith, even if it looks that way on the surface. It’s actually thinly masked fear of losing control and certainty, a mirror of an inner disquiet, a warning signal that deep down we do not really trust God at all.”
Peter Enns, The Bible Tells Me So: Why Defending Scripture Has Made Us Unable to Read It

Nice to meet you, too! I noticed you like historical fiction and work that is dark and intense. Would you be interested in reading my debut historical novel, Blood of a Stone (Tuscany Press), with an eye to a review? Pre-pub reviews have praised the book for its immersion into time and place, complex characters, and fast pace. The book currently has 4.8 stars on Goodreads.

Blood of a Stone is slated for release in mid-March. I'd be happy to send you a .pdf or if you prefer, it's available on NetGalley to download.

Thanks for connecting with me.

Best Regards,
Jeanne

Debbie "DJ" Hey Jeanne, Thanks for the friend invite. Looking forward to chatting books with you. :)

April Neill I loved your story in the book "Sonoran Mirage." What sets you apart from any other author for me is I still think of your writing in my life as certain situations arise. I can remember your characters and flashback to the scene I created in my imagination. Great writing!

Matt Chatelain Hi Jeanne. I added some vidoes. Check them out if you get a chance.

Jeanne Hi, Matt. When I get more organized, I'll start filling out my lists and rankings.

Jeanne Thanks, Diane. School is out next week, so I'm ready to dig into some more reading.

Diane Hoover If you are looking for a good read, Jeanne, try Our Daily Bread by Lauren B. Davis. What a writer she is and what story she tells.
