Dianne J. Wilson writes across genres including YA Fantasy and Romantic Suspense. Weaving Invisible into words, she explores spiritual truth woven through ordinary life with equal dashes of breathless adventure and tongue-in-cheek humor, all soaked in God's Grace. She writes in stolen moments, usually in the back seat of her tiny car.

Her home is in Makhanda, a South African university town, where she lives with her hubby and three daughters who all take turns at being home. Her love-language is tea and taking long drives to listen to new songs with her girls. When she’s not stuck in her car writing, you can find her feeding all the hungry people in her house who gaze at her expectantly around mealtimes.

This feels yucky…

Today, I have to do one of the yuckiest things I’ve ever had to do in my author career. But before we get into that, let’s back up a bit.

Imagine you’ve invited friends to come for tea and cake. Not just any cake, but your special grandma’s-secret-recipe-insert-your-favorite-cake. You’ve spent the morning mixing and stirring and it’s finally in the oven. You tidy up, get out the cups and whatnots.

“waved her hand in the vague direction of the paper she’d just handed over. “What’s this all about, anyway?” Jason held the paper up with a triumphant grin, “Tina, you’re an angel.” He leaned over and kissed her”
Dianne J. Wilson, Shackles: The truth will set you free

“Biting back a scream, Rebecca forced herself upright. Her breathing formed clouds in the bitter July air. Fighting a wave of nausea, she pushed herself to her feet. Dimly aware of the creak of her bedroom door opening, the words echoed again “—Run. NOW.” After casting one final glance to the window above, she did. ___________________________________________________ “You really should have been more careful setting your alarm, dearest. You know how unsafe it is to travel in the dark. Your eyes aren’t what they used to be, you know. At our age, all one’s traveling should be done in daylight.” Pete Goodwood reached across and patted Doreen’s leg.”
Dianne J. Wilson, Shackles: The truth will set you free

“oversee the farm in their absence and also to keep Hazel out of mischief.” Jason smiled at her joke, studying her profile, drinking in her loveliness. “Rebecca, aren’t you angry with Claude at all? He put you through so much.” “Left to myself, I would surely hate him, but God showed me something that changed everything.” Staring into the waves, her eyes lost focus. “I saw who he was as a little boy. Once you understand where someone comes from, it’s easy to forgive, no matter”

“Early love is exciting and exhilarating. It's light and bubbly. Anyone can love like that. But after three children, after a separation and a near-divorce, after you've hurt each other and forgiven each other, bored each other and surprised each other, after you've seen the worst and the best-- well, that sort of love is ineffable. It deserves its own word.”
Liane Moriarty, What Alice Forgot

“Each memory, good and bad, was another invisible thread that bound them together...It was as simple and complicated as that. Love after children, after you've hurt each other and forgiven each other, bored each other and surprised each other, after you've seen the worst and the best...-well, that sort of love is ineffable. It deserves its own word.”
Liane Moriarty, What Alice Forgot

“They would think she was savoring the taste (blueberries, cinnamon, cream-excellent), but she was actually savoring the whole morning, trying to catch it, pin it down, keep it safe before all those precious moments became yet another memory.”
Liane Moriarty, What Alice Forgot

“I am not a graceful person. I am not a Sunday morning or a Friday sunset. I am a Tuesday 2 a.m., gunshots muffled by a few city blocks, I am a broken window during February. My bones crack on a nightly basis. I fall from elegance with a dull thud, and I apologize for my awkward sadness. I sometimes believe that I don’t belong around people, that I belong to all the leap days that didn’t happen. The way light and darkness mix under my skin has become a storm. You don’t see the lightning, but you hear the echoes.”
