Okay. So, originally I planned for The Catalyst to be one book.

(Rather than two big-ish books)

Unfortunately, as I was writing, I realized the story was too long for one book. At least, one book that I was able to write at that moment.

(I'm getting a little better at writing long stories...baby steps)

However, as I was writing a few days ago, I found some of my old notes. And right there in black and white (horrible handwriting, btw), were my notes pondering if my writing chops were able to pull...

Chapter TenRobin quietly opened the front door and paused. Addar sat in his chair by the fire. He raised his head when she came in. They stared at each other, until Robin broke away long enough to close the door. Addar stood from the chair and started toward her.
She turned away to set the radio on the table by the door. When she turned back, Addar stood several feet from her. His expression was carefully blank.
“You did not see your parents,” he said.
Robin met his gaze. “No.”

Chapter Nine
Robin looked out the window at the deserted football field. The moon shown down on the thick blanket of snow and cast the expanse in an unearthly glow. She shifted in place. The movement drew Addar’s gaze. She could feel him watching her.
“Are you well?” he asked.
Robin nodded without looking at him.
There was no point in trying to press him for information. Since his return to the house, he had refused to speak about what was on his mind. Something had him upset, almost panicked. H...

Chapter Eight
Robin stood on the frozen football field, bracketed by her parents. Shannon was busy with George and Sergeant Talbert and his remaining soldier did not leave the school. Their absence left only the two government scientists, Amber, and the silent Vanor.
The fire burned high up into the sky, the flames lapping at wood, fabric, and flesh. The smoke was too thick to see Dr. Lawrence’s body. Robin was glad for it.

“George is not doing well,” Vivian said.
Robin looked up from the steaming cup in her hands. Her parents sat across the tent from her, both of them on her mother’s cot. Her father’s blue eyes shifted from her mother to her.
“Something will need to be done,” he said.
Robin frowned down at her coffee. “Yes.”

I just realized I hadn't written a book blurb for The Catalyst: Book Two and went about doing that. So...here it is!
