Reactions!

Have to love it when you describe some of the characters in your book, and the people start to cringe and ask "What's wrong with you, that you can think like that?" The true nature of a fiction writer. You should see my dreams!

Just make it up as you go...

“Roü sï té ë’tháin! Sëg vérhäin mügén gläh Mürén, Atrüs véid’h arüin sëg ver ëliét änfái c,rïnth.”

Sometimes what needs to be said, needs to be written...
needs a new way, to be said, to be written.

I did not intend to have to create an entire language and alphabet, but sometimes the story dictates what must be done.

Not As Bad As I Thought!

The talented and lovely Ms. Katie St. CLaire, was kind enough to ask me to do an interview...
Then she was bold enough to actually post it on her web-site. Check it out, and her sight. Show her and the other authors she's put in the hot seat some love. Thank You Katie!

to print, or not to...

After settling some rights issues with some photos... the print version of "the SHORT of it..." is back on track. I decided late in the game that if I was going to go ahead with a print version after all, I was going to do it the way I had always envisioned it to be. And... if I was doing it the way I intended to, I needed to use some of the original photos that I used for some of the individual pieces when they were first presented.
Sometimes other's images are the perfect representation of your own words, and you just have to go with it.
More details to follow shortly...

Is Facebook Done?

I would like to reach out to any and all authors who primarily maintain their own social media output. Within the last 3 or 4 months it has become painfully apparent the Facebook is no longer a real tool to be used in outreach to our fans and peers. I have been involved in several tests that prove what most have been saying: that Facebook's hunger to milk tremendous amounts of profits from all, has destroyed ANY benefit it used to have. There is no point or benefit to build a large following, as the more you have, the more they block from your feed. Many major players have already abandoned ship. Is it time?
The sad fact is that it has been proven that even if you cave and use either their advertising or pay per views, the outreach only goes to their own "like farms" which actually diminishes your reach to your true fans.
Unfortunately they have found and are religiously following the adage: Find something they like, then charge them through the teeth and give them less and less, for more and more.

Cover to Cover!

With the decision to take "the SHORT of it..." to print, there comes that inherent need to create artwork for the back cover and spine. I've never shied away from a creative challenge before, but I must admit that nothing ever seems to be just right, when it is for my title, photo, web-site, etc.. Throw in the fact of the difficulty that I had securing the appropriate photo for the front cover... I now have the lovely task of coming up with an equally fitting one for the back.
I have, however completed an excerpt from an old idea, that I felt was apropo for the design. It will give that extra incentive for those who have purchased the digital version, to seek out the print copy. What the hell, start a collection.
