I’m currently searching for a publisher and/or agent for four of my picture books, and an agent for my novel for middle-grade readers. I’m also looking forward to the release of Alfie Dog Fiction Ltd’s adult fairytale anthology, which will include my short story, “The Kiss”. It will be out August 21st and available through Amazon and other retailers, or directly through the Alfie Dog Fiction site. The Were Traveler site/ezine will be publishing my flash fiction humour piece “Sloth the Lazy Dragon” in the fall, and my novelette “Space Zombies!” will soon be available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well as lulu.com (where it is currently for sale). I also hope to have the “Space Zombies!” e-book ready in a few months.

As for new writing projects, I’m brainstorming the next couple of scenes for my graphic novel called “Dog Band”, two new picture storybooks, a couple short stories called “The Coordinator” and “The Prisoner” (which will make a trilogy with my completed short horror story, “The Institute”), and a new play or film (I haven’t decided yet).(less)

I wanted to have an adaptation out in time for the movie’s ten year anniversary in September.

The film, and therefore the book, was inspired by B-movies from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s (even the 90s, really), particularly the work of Edward D. Wood Jr. (famous for his film “Plan 9 From Outer Space", considered by some to be the best worst movie ever made, and Wood is known as one of the worst directors of all time). Other B-movie influences include those old, giant monster movies (giant rabbits, giant ants, giant spiders, giant Gila monsters or other lizards, take your pick), and mad science/scientist movies like “The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant”.

“Space Zombies!” is meant as a tongue-in-cheek B-movie in novelette form. It’s very silly, implausible, and is clearly taking the Mickey out of itself, but I find these movies/stories to be endearing in their own way. Pure entertainment - like Godzilla fighting a giant peach from space!(less)
